Finding the Right Fit: Timing, Budget, and Trust

There are many factors to consider when searching for the remodeling contractor that best fits your needs and the project you have in mind. Two factors that always play a large part in that equation are timing and budget.

 

As our team navigates homeowners through the initial interviews, it’s critical we understand their expectations for budget and timing early in the process and confirm they match the reality of what Stebnitz Builders can deliver.

During the initial phone call, Sam Stebnitz, Brand Manager, will gather general information about the goals for the home and seek to understand why those are important to the homeowner. He also walks the homeowner through our entire process, highlighting the significance of each step. 

 

We then discuss timing — the projected start dates and expected completion dates to ensure alignment with the homeowner. This is critical information and we want to provide complete transparency on what we believe the timeline should look like to ensure expectations from both sides can be met.

 

Once timing is understood, we move on to the expectations of budget, matching the level of investment homeowners want to make into their home with the expected costs of those investments.

 

 

 

 

We introduce the budget as a ballpark range, based on historical data and 53 years of remodeling homes in our community. Using project details, recent examples, and homeowner-provided photos and images, we draft a realistic budget range to provide clarity on the investment level the homeowner should anticipate for their project.

 

If the ballpark aligns with the homeowner’s expectations, we schedule a follow-up meeting with one of our Remodeling Consultants. These are normally held at our office where the project scope is refined and we generate a more detailed Scope of Project and Expected Budget. Identifying these will allow us to manage the budget for the project as we work through development and design.
