Why Growth and Learning Are the Foundations of a Great Remodel

Last week, members of our team, Ryan Hibl, Kyle Schoeneberg, and Sam Stebnitz, attended the Remodelers Advantage Summit in Denver, Colorado. The RA Summit is a gathering of remodeling professionals from across the country who are passionate about learning, growing, and pushing the industry forward.

The industry is always evolving, so it is crucial our team stays in tune with the changes and evolves alongside it. Our team places great importance on continuous learning to provide the best experience possible for our clients.

Continuous learning can come in many different forms, but the RA Summit provides unique opportunities that make the experience extremely valuable. First, it allows our team members to step away from the busyness of day-to-day tasks. When you are there, your job is to learn and soak as much in as possible, and you are physically separated from other distractions.

Second, our team members were immersed in a group consisting of some of the brightest minds in our industry. Networking with peers from across the country, asking thought provoking questions, and listening to the experts in our industry can only happen when you step away.

So, what did we learn?

Ryan Hibl, Production Manager

One thing I gathered from my production manager roundtable was that there are better ways to track our production schedules. Effectively tracking our schedules by days on a job instead of labor hours will allow us to gain a better understanding of project timelines. Making this switch will help our lead carpenters and production management team keep our clients’ projects on track.

A goal that I have after hearing from other industry leaders is refining our process to optimize communication between our remodeling consultants and our production team. Adding another review step in our process, will allow the production team to ensure our clients’ projects are ready to be passed along to their eventual lead carpenters. This will add increased confidence for our clients as they start the production side of their remodeling journey.

Sam Stebnitz, Brand Manager

My biggest takeaway from the Summit was how focused our remodeling industry peers are on the advances of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool. When you think about the construction industry, AI does not immediately seem like a valuable tool. However, embracing AI is the key to unlocking our productivity and enhancing our clients’ experience. Along with the benefits to our clients and team, it will also lead us to new and exciting updates to our marketing material and website.

After 53 years in the remodeling industry, it is humbling attending an event like the RA Summit. The amount of energy that surrounds people at the conference, creates an environment that allows ideas to flow and companies like ours to continue elevating our client experience.

We are excited to put our takeaways into place within the company, and we can’t wait for you to see the positives effects throughout our team and the final product in your home.
